چکیده

Recent developments in the theory of weak decays of heavy flavours are reviewed. Applications to exclusive semileptonic B decays, the semileptonic branching ratio and charm counting, beauty lifetimes, and hadronic B decays are discussed. M ar 1 99 6 Semileptonic decays B → ( π , ρ ) eν in relativistic quark model

Quark model results for the B → π, ρ decays are analysed, making use of the dispersion formulation of the model: The form factors at q 2 > 0 are expressed as relativistic invariant double spectral representation over invariant masses of the initial and final mesons through their light–cone wave functions. The dependence of the results on the quark model parameters is studied. For various versio...

New Formulation of Heavy Quark Effective Field Theory

The heavy quark effective field theory (HQEFT) containing both effective 'quark fields' and 'antiquark fields' is investigated in detail. By integrating out the effective antiquark fields, we obtain an effective Lagrangian in terms of only the effective quark fields. Such an effective Lagrangian differs from the one in the usual heavy quark effective theory (HQET) because of the inclusion of th...

QCD Sum Rules on the Light-Cone, Factorisation and SCET

The accurate calculation of weak heavy-to-light form factors is crucial for the determination of CKM matrix elements from experimental data on B decays. In SCET, the soft-collinear effective theory, these form factors can, in the heavy quark limit, be split into a factorisable part that is calculable in perturbation theory, and a nonfactorisable part that observes certain spin-symmetries. I dis...

The Decay B → π ` ν in Heavy Quark Effective Theory

We present a systematic analysis of the B(∗) → π ` ν weak decay form factors to order 1/mb in the heavy quark effective theory, including a discussion of renormalization group effects. These processes are described by a set of ten universal functions (two at leading order, and eight at order 1/mb), which are defined in terms of matrix elements of operators in the effective theory. In the soft p...

Semileptonic B Decays to Excited Charm Mesons

Exclusive semileptonic B decays to the lightest excited charmed mesons are investigated at order ΛQCD/mQ in the heavy quark effective theory. At zero recoil, ΛQCD/mQ corrections to the matrix elements of the weak currents can be written in terms of the leading Isgur-Wise functions for the corresponding transition and meson mass splittings. The differential decay rates are predicted, including Λ...
